Senior Accountant Job Opportunity

The role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the Head of Accounting to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality financial, tax, and accounting work is completed. The successful candidate will be responsible for building long-term relationships with clients, managing client portfolios, and delivering timely and accurate financial reports.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5+ years of experience in a similar role within an accounting firm. They should also have strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple clients, and working knowledge of tax agent portals, including the ATO Tax Agent Portal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and expand our client base through excellent, professional service
  • Build long-term, proactive relationships with clients
  • Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Handle calculations, preparation, and lodgement of BAS, IAS, and FBT returns for companies
  • Advise clients on technical matters and offer a range of services
  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, including those with rental properties, capital gains, PSI, and sole traders
  • Prepare and submit Super Guarantee Charge Statements and TPAR reports
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports

Requirements:
Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within an accounting firm
  • Experience with key accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple clients
  • Working knowledge of tax agent portals, including the ATO Tax Agent Portal
Desirable Technical Experience:
  • FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax)
  • CGT (Capital Gains Tax)
  • Division 7A compliance
  • PSI (Personal Services Income)
  • Tax planning
