Campaign Risk Management Specialist

Join a dynamic team as we seek a seasoned campaigner to lead our risk management efforts.

We're looking for an experienced professional with expertise in navigating risks, particularly on work tackling climate change, the rise of anti-democracy and dis/misinformation.

You'll be part of our Global Risk Team, working closely with our Risk Manager and collaborating with various global teams to embed strong risk practices within the design and delivery of impactful campaigns.

This is a new position offering scope to shape the role as we expand our risk management operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Risk Manager who reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

• Engage with campaigns at various stages of development to provide a risk management perspective.
• Offer guidance and feedback related to campaign materials and direction to internal teams and partners, focusing on compliance and safety risks.
• Collaborate with the Risk Manager and Executive teams to determine the best course of action for high-risk activities.
• Support teams in identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks for projects during planning and implementation. Assist in addressing risk issues, working with line managers to analyze and rate risks, assess mitigation activities, and develop response plans.
• Review current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Operationalize and support internal governance processes that relate to managing campaign risks.
• Assist in creating country risk profiles when evaluating the feasibility of campaigns and supporting legal teams in conducting risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and risk management consultative support. Work with network teams to ensure risk is monitored and managed appropriately and assess the effectiveness of mitigation actions.

• Experience in campaigns and risk management, preferably in an international organization or one with a global footprint; non-profit and/or communications experience is highly valued.
• Strong cross-cultural experience and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous environment.
• A solid understanding of risk management methodologies and willingness to adapt these skills to suit our organization, promoting an enabling mindset.
• Excellent facilitation skills, both individually and in group settings, with the ability to hold complex conversations and manage disagreements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels and effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, our primary language; additional languages are an asset.
• A genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change.
