Healthcare Professional Opportunity

We seek an experienced Medical Biller to support US healthcare client revenue cycle management using Athena billing software.

Responsibilities:
  • Audit and process medical charges, payments, and journal entries on patient accounts with accuracy.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to efficiently manage claims processing.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient registration data for seamless claim transmission.
  • Operate the Athena billing software to prepare and transmit claims.
  • Proactively follow up on unpaid claims and investigate denied claims for maximum reimbursement.
  • Master the process of appealing denied claims while navigating complex insurance guidelines.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards at all times.
  • Confirm patient eligibility and obtain accurate claim statuses from various insurance payers.
  • Carefully review patient bills and superbills for precise charge entries.
  • Post Electronic Remittance Advice ERA and Explanation of Benefits EOB from diverse systems.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience as a Medical Biller, specifically with extensive hands-on experience using Athena billing software/EMR.
  • In-depth understanding of US healthcare insurance guidelines and medical billing best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform eligibility and benefit verification.
  • Proficiency in obtaining claim statuses and navigating payer portals.
  • Experience with charge entry from superbills and posting ERA/EOB.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
