Financial Operations Assistant

This role involves working as a highly organized and detail-oriented financial operations assistant to report to the management team in financial and administrative operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with financial statements, maintaining cash controls, supervising payroll and personnel administration, managing accounts payable, handling purchasing and payments, and supporting general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use Xero financial accounting system to prepare and reconcile bank statements, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Establish and maintain supplier accounts, ensuring transactions are properly recorded in the computerized accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly construction claims invoices per job and ensure timely payment of contractors.
  • Manage payroll, Single Touch Payroll, and superannuation payments, as well as BAS reporting and reconciliations of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including reconciling credit cards and supplier reconciliations, and handle general administration tasks such as correspondence and document management.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Xero Accounting Software.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Xero Accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with flexibility to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed.
