The Virtual Rockstar Careers team is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Revenue Cycle Specialist to support the billing and revenue cycle management team for our client's growing physical therapy practice.
This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of medical claims, payments, and patient accounts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies electronically and on paper, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Reconcile patient accounts and identify discrepancies or payment issues.
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims with insurance companies to ensure timely resolution.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized accounts receivable system and generate regular aging reports to track outstanding balances.
- Demonstrated experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or claims management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMRs) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with insurance companies and patients.
- Bonus points for knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing guidelines, as well as experience in healthcare administration or physical therapy billing.
