About Our Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Renewable Energy Designer to join our company as a Power Systems Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering electrical systems for PV power generation projects and hybrid microgrid projects.

The role involves developing comprehensive electrical system designs, preparing technical specifications, conducting power system studies, and coordinating with equipment vendors and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and Engineering:
  • Develop detailed electrical system designs for both PV power generation projects and hybrid microgrid projects, including preparation of single line diagrams, protection and metering diagrams, electrical equipment sizing, layout drawings, cable schedules, signal lists, and interconnection schedules.
  • Prepare technical specifications for material requisitions, conduct vendor drawing reviews, and perform technical bid evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct power system studies in ETAP, including Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis, and Protection & Coordination Studies.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and inspections to support design work and identify potential challenges during construction/installation phase, while performing on-site troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during operation phase.
  • Support Business Development Team in meetings with clients and stakeholders to clarify design elements and align expectations.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal teams to finalize project specifications, optimize project outcomes, and ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for regulatory approvals and obtain permits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations for on-time completion of projects.
  • Project Execution and Supervision
  • Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of projects, including contractor management, ensuring all activities comply to approved designs, timeline, and safety standards while following industry best practices.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project team, clients, contractor, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and manage client expectations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and contractor performance meets or exceeds quality requirements.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and update Project Manager and clients on project status.
  • Address any issues that arise during project execution to prevent delays or deviations from project plan.
