Medical Interpreter Role

We are seeking experienced medical interpreters for remote appointments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consecutive interpretation during medical consultations to facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, ensuring courteous behavior at all times.
  • Support note taking and utilize memory techniques as needed to ensure accurate interpretation.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with English and Plautdietsch (target language) is essential for successful interpretation.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical interpreting is highly valued.
  • State certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in both languages are crucial for this role.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of interpreter ethics and be familiar with note-taking and memory techniques.
