
Senior Coding Analyst

A Senior Coding Analyst is needed to collaborate with internal teams to improve documentation, coding, and compliance capabilities.
The ideal candidate will assess and review coding quality on completed accounts by Medical Coders, ensuring adherence to workflows and ethical standards.
This role requires advanced knowledge of professional coding (CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS).
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the team in resolving problems, setting direction, and providing guidance to members.
- Develop and coach a team of employees in all aspects of their job to meet objectives and maintain company culture, policies, goals, and procedures.
- Administer the Quality Assessment process to ensure all quality standards/targets are met.
- Manage daily operational processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity standards/targets are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client-related operational issues and staff assignments, escalating concerns immediately to management.
- Review and analyze reports, records, and data to meet and exceed client and company objectives.
- Collaborate with workgroups to resolve issues impacting internal and external customers.
- Address employee complaints, discipline, and performance issues.
- Continuously seek development and improvement for the entire team.
- Ensure employees follow schedules properly and strive for new ways to increase efficient and accurate work assignments.
- Handle client queries and concerns as necessary.
- Document general reports on each team member's performance and targets, ensuring they exceed targets.
- Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate changes in guidelines and rules, monitor changes in laws, regulations, and policies impacting clinical documentation and reimbursement to assure compliance.
- Foster an environment of teamwork and service excellence within the department.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining a formalized review process to ensure compliance with contractual agreements regarding accuracy rates.
- Assist in creating, monitoring, and standardizing company policies and procedures to monitor the success of the data quality management plan, review areas of risk, investigate identified issues, report data analyses, and take appropriate steps to correct violations, making recommendations to ensure the highest compliance rate with the quality management plan.
- Participate in conference calls/meetings with management and staff to ensure all performance and training recommendations were addressed and improvement suggestions were implemented.
- Support new hire training classes, transition periods, and refresher trainings as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of, understanding of, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of needed improvement.
- Protect and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
