Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to assume the responsibility of managing our clients' day-to-day bookkeeping activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily management of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data, as well as review and reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial records.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing budgets and forecasts and providing critical financial data to support decision-making processes.
  • Monitoring and tracking expenses to ensure compliance with accounting principles.
  • Handling complex bookkeeping tasks, resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities, and implementing improved procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure proper financial recording and reporting.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior bookkeeping staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Implementing and maintaining efficient accounting systems and procedures.
  • Performing regular audits to ensure data integrity and adherence to accounting standards.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant work experience is essential.
  • Experience in Australian bookkeeping is required.
  • BAS Preparation and Personal Tax Return are mandatory.
  • Xero Certification is an absolute requirement.
  • Payroll Taxation and Month-end Reports Preparer is preferred.
