Job Description:

The Financial Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, in compliance with contractual terms and Shell's Control Framework. This position is responsible for resolving vendor disputes, analyzing and driving issue resolution, and escalating issues as required.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and with external counterparties. Strong accounting knowledge and commercial acumen are essential for this role, which involves working with complex data and competing priorities.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the Financial Operations Specialist will be expected to develop effective working relationships with business partners and stakeholders, identify opportunities for process improvements, and contribute to simplification efforts.

This position requires a strong degree of autonomy, with the ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have a degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance and relevant experience in accounting process and controls principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure on-time and accurate invoice processing
  • Resolve vendor disputes in compliance with agreed turnaround time
  • Analyze and drive issue resolution; take over identified actions and different type of requests from stakeholders
  • Manage risks associated with 3rd party settlements
  • Develop an effective working relationship with all business partners and stakeholders
