Product Development Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Product Development Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and analyzing financial data to ensure profitable partnerships. They will also work closely with our product development team to source new suppliers, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial analysis and data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers, including all direct communication, sample sourcing, pricing negotiation, and timeline management to ensure suppliers meet all required deadlines
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analyses for new and ongoing products, including cost and margin analysis, using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to ensure profitable outcomes
  • Product Development Support: Work closely with the product development team, including Associate Director and Sr. Director, to understand product requirements and ensure that activities align with product development timelines and budgets
  • Sourcing New Suppliers: Identify and source new suppliers to meet business needs, including researching and evaluating potential suppliers for new or existing projects
  • Timeline Management: Manage timelines and meet deadlines to ensure timely delivery of all new products launched per season

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in product development
  • Desirable: Experience in beauty, hair goods, or hair accessories
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial analysis and data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
