Inventory Control Specialist

Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the management of all inventory related information and transactions. The role includes monitoring, recording, reporting, analysis, and issue escalation and resolution across various modules.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Monitoring

  • Generate weekly inventory reports and process settlement of orders with complete status.
  • Prepare COS usage variance report, collate explanations from production and finalize Notes to Financial statements.

Inventory Management

  • Generate inventory transactions, evaluate correctness, reclassify, and adjust exceptions to appropriate charge accounts.
  • Evaluate transactions with exceptions and escalate to Logistics Finance for proper handling.
  • Prepare Inventory reports and finalize Notes to monthly financial statements.

COS Validation and Analysis

  • Check correctness of actual Sales and COS for the month per GP, per product, per depot, per plant, and per profit center.
  • Prepare GP Analysis reports and submit to Product Supply Finance group for review.
  • Escalate unusual and significant transactions to Team Leader for proper handling and resolution.

Balance Sheet Account Management

  • Analyze balance sheet GL accounts and assess correctness, accuracy, validity, and reasonableness of recorded transactions.
  • Monitor completeness of charging to truckers as basis for processing, billing, and recording transactions by Interco, AR, and AP.
  • Escalate unbilled charges of 3rd party logistics providers to PSF for follow through and resolutions.

Statutory Reporting

  • Prepare Commissary Sales Certificate and Inventory Listing for submission to Tax Services.
  • Prepare Inventory Warehouse Insurance Report for submission to Corporation Finance for Insurance declaration.
  • Prepare and reconcile inventory roll-forward and roll-backward analysis for external auditor.
Requirements

Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or equivalent

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in inventory accounting, especially with commissary or supply chain operations

Bonus Points

Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software applications

Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and concepts
