The role of a Transportation Coordinator is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication. As a full-time employee, you will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure drivers maintain compliance with DOT regulations and support customer requirements.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact to drivers and management.
  • Monitor daily driving logs to ensure compliance with DOT.
  • Assist the Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness.
  • Develop daily plans to balance drivers' health and safety with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage loads for efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Combine shipments based on their routes and timeline to minimize truck/driver requirement.
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
  • Identify special needs of shipments and assist drivers in obtaining necessary documents.

Additional job requirements include:

  • A high school degree or equivalent; Logistics or transportation degree preferred.
  • Fluent English and Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Quick and thorough data entry/input background including Excel and cloud-based platforms.
  • Clear English speaking skills – minimal accent and high level of understandability.
  • Critical thinking and prompt responsiveness.
  • Prior experience in dispatching roles.
