About This Role

We are seeking an exceptional Project Manager to lead key projects, combining project management skills with a solid understanding of database systems, backend processes, and software development.

This is a long-term, fully remote role that offers a chance to work with a diverse team, engage in challenging projects, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:

    • Manage project lifecycle, ensuring timely collection and delivery of data for AI training and research.
    • Identify and understand business goals and needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Maintain clear communication with peers and stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and blockers.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction and growth of accounts.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Understand and participate in backend system development and data modeling processes.
    • Provide guidance on database normalization and structuring.
    • Write and review advanced SQL queries and ensure database optimization.
    • Handle tasks related to data cleaning, munging, and visualization using SQL and basic Python.

  • Tool Usage:

    • Efficiently manage and analyze large datasets.
    • Use tools like labelstud.io for data labeling.

  • Collaboration & Process Improvement:

    • Collaborate with team members across various roles, embodying flexibility and adaptability typical of startup environments.
    • Engage in community activities and required meetings to enhance processes and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally in a technical or software development context.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL for writing queries.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g., normalization).
  • Experience with Google Sheets and/or Excel for data cleaning and handling.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, engaging stakeholders at all levels with clarity and confidence.
  • Demonstrate systematic and analytical problem-solving skills, capable of overseeing complex projects from inception to completion.
