The role of Canadian Tax Specialist is a highly detail-oriented position that requires maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions under the guidance of senior leadership and accounting partners.

Main Responsibilities:- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping Tasks: Perform all aspects of bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (Canadian edition) for multiple properties, including reconciling bank and credit card statements, and categorizing transactions according to provided guidelines.
- GST/HST Returns: Prepare data and schedules required for Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns for review and filing by our accountant.
- Year-End Tax Preparation: Assist in gathering documentation for year-end tax preparation and audits.
- Monthly Financial Reports: Generate standard monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.) from QBO.
- Financial Tracking: Update and maintain financial tracking sheets (Google Sheets).
- Document Management: Organize and manage digital receipts and documents using tools like Hubdoc and Google Drive, ensuring they are correctly matched to transactions.
- Recurring Accounts: Help track recurring property-related accounts (utilities, taxes, insurance, mortgages) and flag upcoming renewals or payment dates.
- PAYMENT PROCESSING: Prepare vendor payment lists for approval.
We are seeking a candidate with 2-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or junior accountant role. Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required, and experience working with international clients is highly desirable.
A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn Canadian bookkeeping principles under supervision are essential for this role.
