Global Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Sr Site Rlty Engnr Role Overview:

This is a mid-senior level, full-time engineering position in our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS), strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a passion for building scalable, observable, and resilient systems using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.

The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IaC solutions using Terraform and/or CloudFormation across multi-account AWS environments. It also includes collaborating with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to build cloud infrastructure, leading architecture design sessions, and implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.

• Design, Implement, and Maintain IaC Solutions: Use Terraform and/or CloudFormation to create robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to build and maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Lead Architecture Design Sessions: Participate in discussions on system reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Implement Monitoring, Alerting, and Observability Solutions: Utilize tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, and Datadog to ensure system uptime, latency, throughput, and overall reliability.
• Drive Incident Response Processes: Coordinate, triage, resolve, document, and review incidents to improve system reliability.
• Supervise and Mentor Junior SREs and Engineers: Share knowledge, foster growth, and ensure smooth transitions within the team.
• Automate Manual Tasks and Workflows: Use scripting languages like Python, Node.js, Bash, Ruby, JSON/YAML to automate repetitive tasks and enhance productivity.
• Troubleshoot Complex Infrastructure Issues: Diagnose and resolve problems across various infrastructure environments.
• Provide IaC and CI/CD Best Practices: Offer expertise on repeatability, scalability, and compliance across all environments.
• On-Call Support: Be available for support during designated hours to ensure continuous SRE coverage.
• Disaster Recovery Experience: Have a solid understanding and experience with Disaster Recovery processes.

Additional Responsibilities:

Support colleagues with resolving technical issues and develop effective solutions to meet business needs.

Develop and share knowledge base articles and guides to help the team solve common problems more efficiently.

Review existing documentation and recommend updates or improvements for clarity, accuracy, and usability.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, sharing insights with the team to drive innovation and progress.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or system administration roles.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Hands-on expertise with AWS Cloud Services, including Compute & Containerization, Networking, Storage & Databases, Messaging, and others.

Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language: Python, Node.js, Bash, Ruby, or related.

Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud networking (routers, switches), firewalls, DNS, and HTTP/TLS.

Experience operating and troubleshooting across Linux, Windows, and container-based environments.

Experience implementing monitoring and alerting systems and working with incident management processes.

Experience with Zero Downtime Deployments, blue/green or canary deployments.

Familiarity with cost optimization and right-sizing AWS resources.

Exposure to multi-region, multi-account AWS architecture.

Understanding of API gateway, or edge networking.
