Job Opportunity: Linguistic Quality Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled linguist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the AI Rater Incubation Program. As the primary linguist, you will design, test, and refine rating frameworks, create pilot test sets, and ensure that rater training and quality processes drive the outcomes our clients expect.


This role combines linguistic expertise, quality management, and client collaboration. You will partner with program managers, data scientists, and raters to translate client goals into clear evaluation standards and ensure consistent, high-quality outputs.



Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop Rating Standards: Translate client objectives into clear, actionable rating guidelines.
  2. Evaluate Guideline Accuracy: Ensure guidelines reflect what "good quality" means, balancing linguistic rigor and client business needs.
  3. Pilot Phase Collaboration: Collaborate with clients during pilot phases to refine guidelines and make adjustments based on test outcomes.
  4. Test Set Management: Create and manage initial test sets to validate guidelines.
  5. Rater Performance Review: Review rater performance during pilots, identify error patterns, and adjust standards accordingly.
  6. Data-Backed Pilots: Partner with data scientists to ensure pilots are measurable and data-backed.
  7. Quality Assurance: Act as the quality authority for rater performance, ensuring alignment with guidelines.
  8. Rater Training: Develop and deliver training sessions for raters, clarifying complex linguistic or evaluative concepts.
  9. Consistency Monitoring: Monitor rater consistency and provide structured feedback to raise quality standards.
  10. Client Liaison: Join client meetings to represent the linguistic quality perspective and ensure alignment.
  11. Process Improvement: Work closely with program managers (client-facing coordination) and data scientists (insights/metrics support).
  12. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of guideline updates, quality frameworks, and training processes.
  13. Rater Performance Analysis: Perform mid-level reporting and analysis on rater performance (e.g., agreement rates, recurring errors).
  14. Guideline Refining: Highlight risks, biases, or ambiguities in guidelines and propose solutions.
