Electrical Estimator Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, comprehensive, and competitive tender submissions and cost estimates for solar and battery energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for solar PV and BESS projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation to ensure compliant proposals.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information for required components and services.
  • Prepare and issue Tender Packages as Requests for Quotation (RFQs), managing the process from issuance to review of responses.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive tender submissions, including technical proposals, cost breakdowns, and preliminary project schedules.
  • Ensure estimating activities adhere to Quality Assurance, Environmental Management, and Safety Management Plans, as well as industry standards and legislation.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Monitor project programs and highlight potential impacts on estimated timelines.
  • Identify and assess project risks during estimation and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of tender-related documents, communications, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in electrical estimating, focusing on solar PV and BESS, with tender submissions in the Australian commercial sector.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications; deep knowledge of solar PV/BESS systems and commissioning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experienced in liaising with suppliers/subcontractors and skilled in negotiation and communication.
  • Qualifications: Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiar with Simpro or similar job management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in Australian renewable energy regulations and standards.
  • Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical, organised, and effective in team-based environments.

Work Environment & Expectations:

This is a full-time role requiring discipline and commitment to set working hours.

Active participation in team and client calls with camera ON is essential.
