Communications Strategist

This role plays a pivotal part in driving the growth and sustainability of a global knowledge hub. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Head of the organization and collaborate closely with key partners to develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies.

The Communications Strategist will work diligently to enhance the hub's visibility, reputation, and donor relations by developing targeted communications plans, creating engaging content, and leveraging various platforms to reach a broader audience.

  • Develop and implement an overall communications strategy that aligns with the organization's goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify communication needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Design and disseminate content across multiple channels to effectively communicate the hub's mission, impact, and partnerships.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and executing multifaceted communications plans that incorporate graphic design and digital analytics.
  2. Maintaining and growing the hub's website to serve as a central hub for information and resources.
  3. Establishing and leading the execution of a social media strategy to engage stakeholders and promote the hub's core values.
  4. Identifying and cultivating communications opportunities to deepen existing donor relationships and attract new funding sources.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in strategic communications, with a focus on content creation and engagement strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated expertise in website maintenance, social media management, and digital analytics.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in additional languages.
  • Knowledge or experience in relevant subject areas such as tuberculosis, health product introduction, or fundraising.
