Job Title: Medical Coder

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coder to join our team. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to patient types using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS or any other designated coding classification system in accordance with coding rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. You will also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to provide high-quality support to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Abstract required clinical information from the medical record.
  • Code diagnoses and procedures accurately, including modifiers, and resolve coding edits.
  • Respond to audits and make necessary changes to coding of accounts based on agreed findings.
  • Adhere to the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • At least 1 year of experience performing inpatient medical record coding.
  • AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (CPC, CIC, CCS) required.
