Main Responsibilities:
  • Governance and Compliance:
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance within assigned units.
  • Provide input on policy changes that may impact other units of the University.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to evaluate complex situations with legal implications and recommend best options available.
  • Offer timely and accurate legal advice to key administrators on various legal concerns.
  • Documents Drafting and Review:
  • Prepare and review agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure compliance and protect the University's rights and interests.
  • Review communications to ensure information is conveyed in a legally-compliant manner.
  • Legal Representation:
  • Act as the University's representative in internal and external activities requiring legal representation.
  • Manage a range of legal disputes involving various stakeholders.
  • Provide legal guidance on handling investigative and disciplinary processes.
  • Identify critical disputes with high potential for litigation and determine necessity for referral to external counsel.
  • Legal Empowerment/Building of a Compliance Culture:
  • Develop initiatives to promote a corporate culture maintaining the highest possible standards of legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and implement training sessions to raise awareness and compliance with laws and University policies.
