Lead Financial Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Financial Manager to oversee all bookkeeping tasks from client portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate completion every month.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management & Operations: Manage end-to-end payroll, prepare monthly financial reports, and review and reconcile client accounts.
  2. Client Communication & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for daily bookkeeping queries and escalate complex concerns to the Team Lead.
  3. Process Improvement & Documentation: Identify inefficiencies in workflows, develop and maintain detailed documentation, and record work in practice management software.
  4. Reporting & Insight: Provide regular updates on client account performance and operational progress, highlighting recurring challenges or risks.
  5. Team Guidance: Guide team members in using required software, facilitate a collaborative environment, and support the Team Lead in identifying training needs and process gaps.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. Financial Accuracy & Timeliness: All bookkeeping tasks are completed on time with minimal errors or corrections required.
  2. Client Satisfaction: Positive feedback from clients and/or the Team Lead on professionalism, responsiveness, and quality of bookkeeping support.
  3. Team Effectiveness: The bookkeeping team consistently turns to you for guidance on day-to-day challenges.
  4. Software Proficiency: Team members are confident in using required software due to your guidance.
  5. Effective Communication: Clear, actionable updates and insights are consistently provided to the Team Lead.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in end-to-end payroll, bookkeeping, and accounts preparation software (including BrightPay, Xero, TaxCalc, Karbon, Dext).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
