Job Description

The Geospatial Analyst Specialist will support project planning, data analysis, and long-term monitoring. This includes examining and modeling geospatial data for applications such as land use mapping, risk assessment, resource estimation, and deforestation modeling.

Leverage advanced technologies, including cloud computing, machine learning, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL), to build automated workflows, enhance geospatial infrastructure, and support MRV processes.

Support field data collection through coordination and validation activities, provide technical guidance and training, and ensure geospatial quality control across teams. Strong emphasis is placed on clear documentation, reporting, and communication of geospatial outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including support for external verification and project documentation.

Responsibilities
  1. Support project planning, data analysis, implementation, and long-term monitoring.
  2. Analyze and model geospatial data for various applications.
  3. Develop and implement automated workflows using advanced technologies.
  4. Ensure geospatial quality control across teams and provide technical guidance and training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Forestry, Computer Science or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Geospatial Analysis & GIS.
  • Expertise in workflow automation, machine learning/deep learning techniques for image classification and segmentation.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of GIS implementation for forestry, conservation, land use in AFOLU carbon projects.
  • Programming skills in Python and Google Earth Engine.
