Job Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to fill a key role within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the insurance industry, specifically in reinsurance and accrual accounting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analyze and reconcile reinsurance transactions to ensure accurate recognition of accruals and compliance with industry standards.
  • Record, monitor, and verify reinsurance premiums, recoveries, commissions, and claims to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare detailed reconciliations of ceded reinsurance accounts, including treaty and facultative arrangements.
Financial Analysis & Forecasting
  • Examine reinsurance costs, recoveries, and accrual trends to identify variances and provide valuable insights.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate reinsurance structures and their impact on profitability.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting reinsurance-related expenses and recoveries to inform business decisions.
  • Evaluate counterparty credit risks associated with reinsurance receivables to minimize potential losses.
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and industry regulations to maintain a compliant environment.
  • Prepare and provide reinsurance accrual documentation for internal and external audits to facilitate smooth review processes.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the insurance industry focusing on reinsurance and accruals.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, ceded accounting, and accrual-based reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Work Environment
  • Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, full-time onsite position.
