We are seeking an experienced Rent Collector to join our team.

This role involves collecting rent from tenants, communicating with them regarding payment issues, and resolving disputes in a professional manner.

About the Role
  • Rent Collection: The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating and following up on rent payment reminders, ensuring timely payments from tenants.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential for engaging with tenants via phone, email, or messaging platforms to discuss payment issues, establish payment plans, and provide assistance when needed.
  • Record Keeping: Accurate and up-to-date records of all rent payments, payment plans, and communication logs will be maintained in our property management system.
  • Dispute Resolution: The Rent Collector will work collaboratively with tenants to resolve any disputes or questions related to their rent payments or leases.
  • Reporting: Regular updates will be provided to management regarding outstanding payments, collection efforts, and tenant interactions.
  • Compliance: All collection processes must adhere to legal requirements and company policies.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in rent collection, property management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on customer service, are essential for this role.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to manage multiple accounts effectively, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in property management software or databases (e.g., Buildium, AppFolio) is a plus.
  • Professionalism: The ability to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with tenants is vital.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of rental laws and regulations in the applicable market is required.
