Disaster Recovery Officer Role Overview

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of DR documentation, including recovery plans, runbooks, and testing schedules.
  • Participate in DR testing activities, planning, execution, and post-test analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with annual plan updates, review, and signoff milestones.
  • Monitor and report on DR readiness across systems and departments.
  • Work with risk management teams to enhance Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Maintain records and reports for auditors and senior management.
  • Establish departmental procedures, documentation, and training aligned with records management policies.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT operations, risk management, or business continuity.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery principles and IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with DR tools and technologies, such as backup solutions and cloud recovery platforms.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing, influencing, facilitation, and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Certifications like CBCP, ISO 22301, or ITIL are beneficial but not required.
