Software Infrastructure Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex engineering projects in Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack.
- Resolve intricate issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.
- Maintain close working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in upstream communities.
- Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream for inclusion.
- Review code produced by colleagues.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of Ubuntu and open source applications used by large enterprise customers.
This position involves addressing critical issues in the open source stack requiring upstream bug fixes.
The ideal candidate has a background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar, experience with Linux and open source software, and experience with at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
A drive to learn unfamiliar technologies and deep-dive into difficult issues, willingness to travel occasionally for internal events, and excellent communication skills are also essential.
