Job Title: Senior Property Financial Specialist

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual with advanced proficiency in AppFolio to manage financial records, reconcile accounts, and support property management operations.

About the Role:
  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments
  • Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements monthly

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in real estate accounting and a proactive approach to financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments
  • Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements monthly
  • Prepare owner statements, financial reports, and draw schedules
  • Monitor and manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related transactions
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards
  • Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end financial preparations
  • Handle tax documentation, 1099s, and other regulatory filings as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus)
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate
  • Proven expertise in AppFolio software (required)
  • Experience managing financials for multiple properties or portfolios
Skills & Tools:
  • Advanced proficiency in AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Traits:
  • Familiarity with U.S. property management practices
  • Experience with trust account reconciliation and owner draw processes
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment
