Software Engineer - Graphics and Windowing Systems

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-quality software solutions for our graphics and windowing systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in both C++ and Rust programming languages, with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns. Experience with window compositing systems or graphics device experience is highly desirable.

This role involves working closely with other developers, designers, and engineers to deliver software solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implementation of features across the Mir stack
  • Assisting in debugging, tracking down, and fixing issues
  • Participating in code and architectural review
  • Creating and improving tests and performance benchmarks to catch issues early

We are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with the open source community and commercial partners, ensuring seamless integration of our software solutions with other products and services.

To be considered for this role, you must have an excellent Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar, and 2+ years of relevant working experience. A strong portfolio of personal projects or contributions to open-source projects is also essential.
