About the Role

The Metadata Administrator role is responsible for implementing and managing metadata management tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage metadata management tools and technologies to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data and metadata.
  • Review, analyze, and maintain data and metadata to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional units to comprehensively understand data requirements and challenges.
  • Provide training and support to data stewards and custodians on metadata management principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate reports and presentations for senior management detailing the status of metadata management initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in data management and governance practices such as metadata management, data quality management, or master data management.
  • Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence.
  • Familiarity with data management technologies and tools, including data governance platforms, metadata management systems, data quality tools, and master data management solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Data Catalogs, Data Dictionaries, Business Glossaries, and Lineage.
  • Experience working with Alation or similar data cataloging tools.
  • Experience with metadata management platforms/tools, such as data catalogs, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
