Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to take on a key role in our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have experience in UK accounting standards, regulations and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns and other accounting deliverables before submission.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns and P11Ds while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Work closely with junior bookkeepers providing guidance and constructive feedback while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters and compliance requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices within the accounting workflow.

Requirements

  • Experience in a UK accounting firm.
  • Reviewing and oversight experience.
  • Tax and compliance expertise.
  • Payroll knowledge.
  • Leadership and team delegation experience.
  • Software proficiency in Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
