Position Responsibilities

The Research Analyst is responsible for conducting research on public sector business opportunities in support of Deltek's government contracting intelligence platform, GovWin IQ. The Research Analyst provides account management over a select set of states and localities for which the analyst will utilize primary and secondary research to identify, qualify, and describe procurement opportunities. Principle duties include synthesizing research findings while tracking and updating progress on identified government business opportunities.

This role focuses on government contracting in the state, local, and education (SLED) market. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter who demonstrates success in a deadline-driven work environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and capture content through in-depth research
  • Stay abreast of public sector procurement developments and report on government requirements and progress through the purchasing lifecycle
  • Interact with Government officials, orally and through written communication, in an effort to establish better account management relationships
  • Participate in formal quality assurance reviews to ensure delivery of correct and timely information
  • Conduct research, synthesize findings, and deliver timely responses to customer inquiries
  • Support management in the training of new team members
  • Contribute to product enhancements and recommend improvements
  • Any other tasks, reports and research associated requests, as needed/assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business development or public sector administration
  • Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft products and Internet research
  • Superior ability to synthesize complex concepts in both written and oral forms
  • Good relationship-building skills
  • Capable of independently managing time & tasks to accomplish objectives
  • Intermediate level understanding of public sector procurement
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in a market research/information collection function or in a government business development function
