About The Opportunity

The IT Asset Management Analyst adds value to Ceridian by building relationships with stakeholders and vendors and overseeing the maintenance of good IT asset information that serves to support business decisions in the areas of Service, Change, and Financial Management, as well as Enterprise Architecture and Cybersecurity. This individual is responsible for defining and maintaining the IT Asset Management program through the development, upkeep and continuous improvement of policies and procedures that cover control and monitoring of IT assets in accordance with the IT strategic plan. They are responsible for ensuring compliant usage of IT assets per the acceptable use rights of applicable agreements. Manages the ITAM activities across the lifecycle of a HW and SW asset across a portfolio of vendors. IT Asset Management helps Ceridian IT manage their systems effectively and saves time and money by avoiding unnecessary asset purchases. Reports to leadership on the effectiveness of the program and assists in reporting on operational metrics and KPI's.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Establishes (or refreshes) policies, programs, and procedures for identifying and tracking IT assets, both hardware and software, through the desired life cycles.
  • Define and maintain requirements of ITAM technologies and toolkits (tools, applications, checklists, templates, etc.): data, function, integration.
  • Define ITAM requirements to non-ITAM functions and aid the development of end-to-end IT service management processes.
  • Manage the ITAM technologies (ServiceNow & USU License Management) ensuring quality and integrity of asset, license, and related data.
    • Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
      • Monitor, measure, analyze and report on the purchase, upgrade, deployment, redeployment, transfer, incidences of support, loss, theft, and decommissioning of hardware assets.
    • Software Asset Management (SAM)
      • Conduct, report on and investigate internal license compliance audit analysis to identify risk exposure: under-/over-licensed and facilitate identified remediation activities; see SAM Toolkit: License Compliance Audit Response Plan.
      • Leverage Managed SAM (MSAM) service for key publishers.
        • Liaise with MSAM vendor and Ceridian stakeholders.
        • Conduct monthly governance meetings including IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity stakeholders.
    • ITAM - HAM and SAM
      • Assist Associate or Intermediate resources with escalations or process edification, as necessary.
  • Reporting
    • Define, produce, and present reports for internal ITAM or key stakeholder use in trend analysis on respective IT asset estates' data (inventory, installation, usage, cost) to make recommendations for budgetary and forecasting needs in areas of cost, process, or asset optimization.
  • IT Software and Hardware Maintenance / Subscription Contract Renewals
    • Following a renewal calendar, partner with Vendor Management, Senior IT Management, and additional key stakeholders in building key IT vendor relationships to deliver value through negotiating pricing, volume purchases, and terms and conditions to optimize maintenance and license positions of complex, high-value Technology contracts while ensuring a shift from transactional oversight to strategic participation within the business.
  • IT Vendor Audits
    • Partner with Vendor Management to manage license compliance audits as initiated by an external party (e.g., publisher); see SAM Toolkit: License Compliance Audit Response Plan.
  • Asset Management General IT Controls (GITC)
    • Ensure compliant execution of defined Asset Management GITCs.
  • M&A Integration Planning & Execution
    • Conduct IT asset rationalization and negotiate with vendors to combine IT estates in partnership with Vendor Management and 3rd party consultants.
    • Operationalize Ceridian's Asset Management program to acquired entities.
  • Solution/Software Selection Process
    • Provide relevant input to software evaluation, selection, and contract terms (e.g., license models, support services).
    • Partner with the business to help guide decision making processes by presenting current state and proposed future state asset details utilizing Ceridian environment data to help in planning and budgeting exercises.

Skills And Experience We Value

  • A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or business or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7+ years' experience as a ITAM (HAM / SAM) Analyst or applicable work experience.
  • Experience with managing relationships with third party service providers.
  • Experience with contracting and being able to read and understand contractual language.
  • License Agreements, EULA's, Deployment Rights, Audit language
  • Exceptional familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems.
  • Broad understanding of information technology (IT), IT management and operation, and the IT industry.
  • Good awareness and understanding of relevant trends, practices, and issues in the IT industry and for major vendors.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing methodologies, concepts, practices, issues, trends etc. in the IT industry and with major vendors: Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle
  • SAM education (e.g., CSAM, CHAMP, CITAM); and/or relevant work experience.
