Job Summary:

The Safety Manager ensures the implementation of effective Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs. The role involves coordinating with management, contractors, and employees to ensure the safety of people, property, and the environment while complying with statutory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and consult with mall and line management on all matters relating to safety procedures, personnel safety, equipment, and the environment.
  • Participate in contractor HSE walkthroughs, monitor compliance, and take corrective actions to close findings.
  • Attend contractors' HSE meetings and conduct regular safety meetings with mall operations and project safety personnel.
  • Monitor contractors' adherence to safety procedures and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Review plans, specifications, and work methods to ensure safety measures are integrated into mall operations and new projects.
  • Devise and implement control mechanisms to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions, promoting a safe working environment for employees, tenants, contractors, and mall guests.
  • Review safety meeting minutes, inspection reports, and incident investigations to ensure proper documentation and closure of actions.
  • Verify and maintain all HSE-related records, including trainings, certifications, toolbox talks, observations, and close-out reports.
  • Lead safety drills, emergency preparedness activities, and awareness programs.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Civil Engineer.
  • Must have Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) certification.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in safety management, preferably in malls, construction, or commercial real estate.
  • With People Management Skills/ with experience handling a team.
  • Strong understanding of safety laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
