JOB PURPOSE

The IT Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall security and integrity of the organization's information systems and data. This role involves implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring system activity, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. The IT Security Officer works closely with the IT department and other stakeholders to develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the organization's assets.

The secondary role of IT Infrastructure Advisor involves responsibility for providing strategic IT Infrastructure guidance and support to IT Infrastructure Operations, franchisees, and corporate teams. The IT Infrastructure Advisor is responsible for understanding our business objectives, identifying technological opportunities, and implementing innovative IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency and drive growth. The IT Infrastructure Advisor will serve as a key point of contact for all technology-related matters, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure our franchisees stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry.

Lastly, the IT Security Manager & Infrastructure Advisor will be part of the Architecture Council, which formulates solutions proposed by IT that are high investment and high risk in the context of the company's IT landscape.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the organization's IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits, periodic access reviews, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Monitor and analyze system activity logs to identify and respond to security incidents and breaches.
  • Manage the organization's security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address weaknesses in the IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that security controls are integrated into the system development life cycle (SDLC) and that secure coding practices are followed.
  • Stay up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively address emerging risks.
  • Conduct security awareness training and education programs for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with applicable security standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies during security assessments and audits, or other audits having IT security implications.
  • Investigate security incidents and breaches, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, incident response plans, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Evaluate and recommend security products and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure that security controls are in place and meet the organization's requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to IT teams and other stakeholders regarding security-related matters.

IT Infrastructure Advisor

Technology Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the IT management team to develop and implement the overall IT Infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's business goals.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the IT Infrastructure technology landscape to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to stakeholders.

Franchisee Support:

  • Support and advise the IT Head and franchisee-facing IT teams on Infrastructure-related matters, such as: getting franchisees to understand and adopt IT solutions, systems, and tools to optimize their operations.

Solution Implementation and Integration:

  • Provide advice in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of IT systems, software applications, and infrastructure.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Keep stakeholders informed about new technologies and industry trends through regular communication channels, presentations, and training sessions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in IT security, preferably in a similar role, with a strong understanding of security principles, concepts, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in an IT infrastructure role, preferably in the retail or franchising industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and software applications.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends, security protocols, and data privacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices, network protocols, and operating systems.
  • Experience in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging security threats.
