The Training and Competency Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of training programs, ensuring employees receive the necessary training to maintain competency and perform their jobs effectively. This role includes assessing employee competencies, creating and updating Health and Safety training programs, and collaborating with department heads to identify and align training needs with the company's objectives. The supervisor will also monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, provide coaching and mentoring, and ensure compliance with training regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to address skill gaps and align with organizational goals.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis and lead the implementation of training programs.
  • Regularly assess employee competencies and provide tailored training solutions to enhance performance.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions using a variety of methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with training and assessment regulations and workplace standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of training activities and employee competency assessments.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to support employees' professional development.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment between training initiatives and company objectives.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the impact of training programs, making adjustments as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Training, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in training and development, with at least 5 years in the construction industry and 3-5 years in Occupational Health and Safety training.
  • Proven experience in training and competency management, preferably in Education & Training or Workplace Training & Assessment.
  • Knowledge of construction health safety regulations and proficiency in using training software or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Certifications such as CTDP and Training of Trainers (ToT) are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and effective training design.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and feedback skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards (PS) requirements is an advantage.
