The Business Development Officer - Permits and Licenses will oversee all permits and licenses activities within the department, ensuring that the team meets established timelines and successfully navigates regulatory processes. The officer will work closely with internal teams to streamline processes and ensure that regulatory requirements are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Permitting and Licenses:
    Oversee and manage all permits and licensing activities for new sites and expansion.
    Ensure that all necessary permits are obtained within the set timelines.
    Identify and address issues that may arise during the permit acquisition process and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
  2. Troubleshooting and Process Optimization:
    Analyze permit acquisition processes and troubleshoot when delays or obstacles occur.
    Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and ensure faster turnaround times.
  3. Project Monitoring and Reporting:
    Monitor project timelines and activities to ensure the team is on track.
    Provide regular updates to the department head on the status of permits and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  4. Team Leadership and Delegation:
    Delegate tasks related to permits and licenses to the team and oversee their execution.
    Provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure they are addressing permit-related challenges effectively.
  5. Agency Communication and Negotiation:
    Engage with government agency representatives, negotiating and resolving issues as they arise.
    Act as a key point of contact between the company and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
  6. Documentation and Compliance:
    Ensure that all permits and licenses are accurately documented and comply with regulatory requirements.
    Keep records of all permit applications, approvals, and communications with government agencies.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management.

• Business Administration, Operations Management, Civil Engineering, Legal Management and Political Science with relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in permits and licensing, project management, or regulatory compliance (preferably in the real estate industry).

• Strong background in troubleshooting process issues and optimizing workflows.

• Experience dealing with government agencies and managing permit acquisition processes.

Skills:

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines, delegate tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for process improvements.

• Effective communication and negotiation skills for liaising with government agencies and addressing challenges.

• Proficient in process optimization and efficiency improvement.

• Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to lead and direct a team through complex regulatory processes.
