Wastewater Management Engineer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operates and controls treatment plant machines and equipment to collect and treat wastewater.
  2. Implements and monitors operational efficiency activities for the treatment plant.
  3. Ensures proper inventory of materials needed to operate the treatment plant.
  4. Performs troubleshooting activities and repairs minor defects of plant machines and equipment to ensure smooth operation of the treatment plants and implement autonomous maintenance.
  5. Performs all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with the environmental standards.
  6. Assists in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on all plant machines and equipment.
  7. Implements Integrated Management System's programs, activities, procedures, and policies.
  8. Conducts analysis of data and timely submission of reports.
  9. Consolidates and reports major maintenance and equipment calibration for the plant.
  10. Ensure proper coordination with other groups and assistance to service providers.
  11. Ensures compliance of facility to environmental laws and other requirements and regularly submits self-monitoring report to DENR and LLDA.
  12. Ensures compliance of facility to occupational safety and health policies.
  13. Performs information, education, and communication initiatives by accommodating site visits and plant tours.
  14. Ensures proper upkeep of plant premises and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES

Graduate of engineering course. Licensed Engineer (preferably license in Chemical, Sanitary, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferably with relevant work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledgeable in design software/s.
  • High problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Quick thinker and with ability to make important spot decisions.
  • With good people management skills.
  • With good presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new software, applications.
  • Ability to initiate innovations and lead implementations.
  • License driver is an advantage.

Preferably with BOSH certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS and OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

Works in a normal office environment with field work and night duty. Requires making regular rounds of the treatment facility. May require handling various chemicals and plant machinery/equipment. Always on call.
