Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Hive Virtual Administrator to support and maintain our integrated IT program. The candidate will work alongside other Systems engineers, architects, and technical teams to design, build, and support a streaming and messaging platform. Responsibilities also include overseeing end-to-end agile design, scoping, implementation, and collaborating with development and Service design teams to deliver quality products. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Hive technologies in development and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage storage, performance tuning, and volume of Hadoop clusters.
• Deploy Hadoop clusters, manage nodes, monitor jobs, configure high availability, schedule, and backup.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade software as needed.
• Plan capacity and implement hardware/software upgrades.
• Design, set up, fine-tune, monitor, and scale Hadoop infrastructure.
• Coordinate with development, admin, and business teams.
• Design and develop Data Lake and Data Warehousing solutions.
• Configure Hadoop security.
• Provide helpdesk support, resolve tickets and critical issues.
• Flexible scheduling during project launches or updates.
• Perform other duties as required.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily sedentary, involving sitting/standing for long periods, operating computers and office equipment, with occasional movement and lifting up to 40 pounds.
