About the job: Security Operations Center Level 1 Analyst

Role summary:

The SOC Analyst Level 1 will work in a hybrid environment, either remotely via the Internet or reporting to the office as required.

This role provides technical, administrative, and procedural support for the company's and its clients' information security programs, aiming to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems in line with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and strategic goals.

Specific responsibilities
  • Monitoring & Detection:
  • Operate SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, AlienVault, Rapid7) to monitor, analyze, and respond to alerts.
  • Review logs from sources such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection to detect anomalies and threats.
  • Incident Triage & Response:
  • Conduct initial analysis of alerts to determine incident nature, severity, and impact.
  • Escalate incidents according to predefined criteria, involving senior analysts when necessary.
  • Follow incident response playbooks for scenarios like phishing, malware, and unauthorized access.
  • Threat Intelligence & Reporting:
  • Maintain awareness of the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methods.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and actions thoroughly.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
Skillset & Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CSA, or GSEC are preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication, especially under pressure.
Experience Level

Typically 1-2 years of IT or cybersecurity experience; recent graduates with strong foundational knowledge and eagerness to learn may also be considered.

Minimum Requirements
  • Stable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps for proper task execution.
  • Backup connectivity of the same capacity to ensure continuity if primary connection fails.
  • All services are hosted in the cloud and within the client/partner environment online.
