Job description

The purpose of this position is to support the operations department
in ensuring that the principal's database is always updated in a timely manner and that all encodings are done accurately.

The Database Encoder is tasks to accurately encode all Seafarer's documents on the principal's database. They are also tasks to identify and report any malfunction to the system during their day-to-day operation.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a graduate of Computer Science, IT, or any business-related degree.
  2. An experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement holding a similar position or its equivalent will be an advantage.
  3. Must be up to date with trends and developments in database applications.

Core Job Functions:

  1. They are responsible with the uploading of the seafarer's documents and making sure that these documents are up to date and monitored in a timely manner for their expiration.
  2. Responsible for the encoding and updating of the database related to all Fleets.
  3. Responsible for creating and monitoring the Crew Performance track for all approved training omission request.

Core Competencies:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Must have the ability to supervise and organize task.
  3. Must have an excellent interpersonal skill.
  4. Must have a good knowledge of office software and applications.

Significant Factors:

  1. Must have the ability to work extra hours and be flexible on working arrangements when there are urgent tasks to complete.
  2. Knowledgeable with STCW regulations.
  3. Skilled in data entry and file management.
