GPC Philippines Corporation is currently seeking a QuickBooks Accounting Specialist: Specialist in On Boarding. This position will work from 12:00 am to 8:00 AM PHT and applies only to Philippine-based legal residents and citizens.

GPC is the Employer of Record for a dynamic, growing bookkeeping firm based in Oregon, USA that has clients throughout the USA. You are being invited to be a part of a team that enjoys working from home, and knowing each other well, while all working remotely (you are still allowed to use the GPC office if you want office space in Manila). The right candidate is someone who wants to work from home while having a challenging and interesting bookkeeping job. You will have a mix of small and large clients, an expectation for billable hours each week, and a few meetings so we all work as a team. You will be supported in ways big and small, and we hope you will stay as a part of our team for a long time. Everyone on our team has a full load of bookkeeping work, and over time we work to train each other so you can handle harder jobs, and pass your easier ones to new folks. As we know you well, we offer a flexible work day, so you can set your own schedule. We do ask that you update the calendar and communicate changes.

Posted work time will shift to more flexible hours once you are trained, but you do need to be available for Pacific Time Zone working hours.

Job Description

The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. Key responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling bank and credit card statements, recording journal entries, and assisting with monthly financial reporting. This role also involves working with several clients each month. You will be managing transaction entry, reconciling payroll to quarterly taxes (not preparing those taxes), reconciling bank, credit card, and loan accounts, and analyzing monthly reports such as the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet. The position requires 3-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, proficiency in at least one of the following: QuickBooks Online, Quickbooks Desktop, Xero, other accounting systems. You need a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, the ability to work independently from home in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and excellent attention to detail. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding new clients.
  • Set up QuickBooks online or on a desktop from scratch.
  • Ability to understand client's needs comparing that to existing accounting systems and determine what is broken or set up incorrectly.
  • The ability to read a balance sheet and understand what is not right (if anything is not right), and how to begin fixing it, so we can clean up the books.
  • A love of walking into an unknown situation and creating financial calm and organization within the software.
  • An ability to prioritize critical tasks over optional things in QuickBooks and other tools, so the work is good enough for requirements presented.
  • English skills good enough to communicate fluently with your American teammates and clients about financial matters.
  • Problem solving skills to help us set up new clients in our system and document the process.
  • An ability to document your process.
  • Process invoices (AR), bills (AP), reconcile bank and credit card statements, and record journal entries (payroll, depreciation, annual closing).
  • Full charge bookkeeping for monthly or quarterly financial reporting and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Track cash activity, credit card transactions, and any new assets or liabilities.
  • Support budgeting processes, financial planning, and other financial goals of client businesses.
  • Maintain compliance with the U.S. GAAP within bookkeeping.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial data.
  • Help clients use their accounting software tools to their full potential.
  • Work on a team, including weekly meetings, training peers, learning from peers, offering and asking for help as workloads fluctuate.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting tools.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Dedicated workspace at home.
