Business Development Officer

Job Summary:
The Business Development Officer will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth. This position requires a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in sales and business development within the customs brokerage or international trade industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, along with a deep understanding of the customs brokerage process and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target market.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in industry events and networking activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery.
- Track and analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance and progress towards targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, international trade, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales and business development within the customs brokerage or international trade industry (minimum 3-5 years).
- Strong understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license (if required for client visits).
