Job Summary

We are looking for an Art Director who is not only creative, but also enjoys working in a fast paced environment. You will be working with a tech and design-savvy in-house creatives team, developers, and production suppliers, crew and staff in order to come up with an overall concept. The goal is to translate marketing and branding strategies into innovative and impressive campaigns that stimulate targeted audiences. Responsibilities

The following outlines responsibilities and related duties for the Art Director role:

  • Non Negotiable Skills — Art directors must possess: an eye for detail; sense of decoration; ability to visualize ideas; ability to think visually and share ideas; team leadership; communication skills; ability to coordinate with others; strong working knowledge of health and safety practices.
    • Duties — Leading a team of artists, and typically fulfilling duties such as:
    • Determine the types of artistic elements to use on a project, including art and photographs
    • Determine the best way to visually represent a concept
    • Articulate the vision of a project to their team
    • Develop the overall style or look of: Advertising campaigns, Publications, Film set, Television set, Theater set, Live events
    • Review and approve work other staff members produce, such as: Artwork, Copy, Design, Graphics, Photography
    • Develop budgets and timelines
    • Manage staff and oversee other artists, including: Graphic designers, Exhibit designers, Set designers, Lights and Sound
    • Coordinate activities with other departments, including creative and artistic departments or producers and directors
    • Talk to clients to develop artistic approaches and styles
    • Present projects to clients for approval
    Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferably with bachelor's degree in an art or design
  • Proven working experience as Art Director, or relevant experience as graphic designers, illustrators, copy editors, photographers, or other art/design occupations
  • At least 3 years of work experience in advertising, public relations firms, newspapers/magazines, motion picture/video industries, or specialized design services
  • Prolific knowledge and experience in producing quality multimedia outputs, campaigns, events, and projects from inception to execution
  • Proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite (static and moving) and wireframing tools
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating design skills, versatility, and industry experience
