Who are we looking for:

As an Operations Manager, you are expected to be in charge of the general supervision of several and different retail locations of the company. The function involves a broad spectrum of activities to ensure excellent execution. Activities involve people management, cash operations, physical inventory, data management, store display and maintenance, supply chain and others.

Sales and Profitability

  • Track and implement financial quotas for the store and staff based on the stated financial goals of the business.
  • Promote profit of store operations by analyzing sales trends and making data-backed decisions.
  • Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
  • Develop business strategies to raise our customers' pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability.

Cost Management

  • Review store sales numbers, cost of inventory, operational expenses and inventory loss.
  • Develop a plan to suggest to management how each store could improve in order to maximize profits and reduce loss at the store level.
  • Maximize profits through proper inventory management and staffing. Manage all expenses within established budget.

Inventory Analysis

  • Forecast sales figures and inventory requirements for each location.
  • Conduct a periodic inventory analysis for each store and use that analysis coupled with sales figures to determine the optimal stock levels.
  • Determine how much of each product or brand should be ordered for each store, when it should be delivered, and encourage ordering protocols to optimize store stock to build sales figures without overstocking.

Store Operations

  • Reinforce the Operations Supervisors to implement company policies and procedures, store standards, cash handling; and ensure all company SOPs are complied with.
  • Assess and identify new opportunities for growth in current and prospective markets.
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.

People Management

  • Responsible for ensuring that all stores under your leadership are staffed correctly at all times.
  • Accurately estimate the needs of each store and work with the store's staff to solve conflicts.
  • Ensure that scheduling needs are met and assist in improving employee performance and retention. This involves periodic site visits to check employee performance and gauge customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that department goals are communicated, understood and implemented in the branch.
  • Ensure stores are staffed by producing and communicating schedules to the store crew/leader on a daily basis.
  • Maintain effective control, supervision and high service standards by coordinating tasks and work and ensuring that staff have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs.
  • Identify training needs of the team members, send them to training or act as a mentor.
  • Evaluate the performance of Operations Supervisors, provide feedback and coaching for Operations Supervisors.

Decision Making

  • Decisions are made in a timely manner and according to approved authority.
  • Decisions requiring approval of or consultation with superiors are made accordingly.

Customer Service

  • Live up to the WOW Customer Service by ensuring that customers have a good experience.
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.). Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance.

What does it take to be part of the team?

  • Graduate of any Business course or any related course.
  • At least 3-4 years of working experience.
  • Must have a background in Operations Management.
  • Work Experience in retail industry is a plus.
  • Familiar with SWOT Analysis, Forecasting, Sales and Cost Analysis.
  • Highly motivated by targets and achieving set goals.
  • Deliver accurate and high quality work.
  • Work effectively with other areas of the company.
  • Personable, with good communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Must be analytical and critical thinkers.
  • Has a strong business acumen.
  • Has the ability to lead people and work collaboratively with Senior Leaders.
  • Can work in shifting schedule, weekends and holidays.
  • Has a strong commitment to organization, accuracy and meeting deadlines, interested in molding great teams, and has passion for excellence.
