The Dimensions & Outbound Packaging Engineer ensures alignment of label dimensions with machine requirements and development and studies of secondary, tertiary packaging, and outbound packing specific for shipping cartons. The Dimensions & Outbound Packaging Engineer is also responsible for the determination of stacking and palletizing requirements and the determination of optimum conditions of all product packing during transport and distribution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Engineering and/or Industrial Engineering.
  • With at least 2 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry; experience in the Food Manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Good critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Creative and perseverant.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for continuous learning and acquiring knowledge, along with exceptional leadership skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Integrity and professional ethics with solid decision-making skills.
  • Knowledgeable in layout editing software such as Visio, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Above average to excellent in using MS applications.
  • Willing to board or relocate to Pasig City.

Your scope of duties and responsibilities include:

  • Knowledgeable with the machine commissioning procedure or process related to any filling and packing.
  • Participate and provide inputs for any machine commissioning involving packaging materials, focusing on compliance and/or applicability of label and packaging designs in reference to machine requirements.
  • Update existing procedures and standards on product packing if necessary.
  • Validate compatibility of determined packaging materials, ensuring that products will withstand transport and handling and meet the declared shelf life.
  • Research qualifying parameters such as material identity or classification, physical and chemical characteristics, material strength and/or durability, storage conditions, regulatory standards, and other parameters as required in assessing the appropriateness, safety, and quality of the material.
  • Perform pre-assessment of outbound packaging and shipping cartons as input in the review and updating of packaging descriptions.
  • Support product packing developments, batch trials, and improvement initiatives and activities.
  • Review plans and specifications for the construction of new machines or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
  • Design and conduct training and/or transfer of knowledge and technical know-how, plan and implement effective hand-shake activities, seminars, and/or training for any established outbound packaging and shipping carton standards, specifications, and/or procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) and/or Standardize-Do-Check-Act (SDCA) model.
  • Establish processes for innovation and technology qualification, assessment, and acquisition for management review.
  • Perform root cause analysis using different approaches and models. Objectively review and investigate process implementation for any identified deviation.
  • Participate in food safety teams and technical discussions, providing inputs for any packaging dimension alignment, outbound packaging, and shipping carton concerns.
