This position is responsible for providing support to United States based Health and Benefits Consultants. Within this role, as a member of the North America client team, you will collect and analyse data that informs strategic business decisions. The expectation will be to efficiently and accurately produce several client facing reports. You will serve as the analyst for US Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) non-quantitative treatment limit (NQTL) projects, manage deliverables, and interact with the United States Health and Benefits team to contribute to process improvements and new analytical tools. A clinical mindset, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required.

This role requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work both independently and as part of a team. You will support projection completion, review vendor responses, and compile NQTL findings with a view toward addressing gaps in compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare NQTL data requests on behalf of each client and review member-facing vendor documents (e.g., summary plan designs, summaries of benefits).
  • Monitor carrier and vendor responses to data requests and perform initial reviews of responses for parity projects.
  • Determine appropriate results and recommendations for parity concerns and collaborate with the MHPAEA Technical Reviewer for language accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the project manager on data requests, timing, and follow-up; validate the completeness of responses and report issues impacting timelines.
  • Map carrier responses to the NQTL document sections and conduct follow-up with carriers/vendors as needed for clarification.
  • Support the overall completion of the NQTL component of the report and schedule meetings as required.
  • Participate in weekly or bi-weekly project status calls and MHPAEA roundtables as needed.
  • Maintain materials/documentation in accordance with WTW processes and peer review standards.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with US health and welfare plans, ideally in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm, health plan, TPA, regulatory agency, legal/compliance firm, or insurance company; experience with US-based consulting or health care firms is a plus.
  • Understanding of US health plan utilization/case management processes, network management, credentialing, quality management, pharmacy prior-authorization processes, and health plan operations.
  • Basic understanding of Mental Health Parity regulations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and client service orientation; ability to work with colleagues across levels and geographies.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new concepts in a global context.
