The Role

Everest International Academy Inc. is seeking a committed and experienced English Department Head for Upper School to join our leadership team. This role involves leading and supporting the subject teachers under the English department in the implementation of the curriculum and/or study programs defined for the school, ensuring the alignment with the Integral Formation Plan according to the Educational and Pedagogical Model, with the goal of ensuring an excellent education for the students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the annual operational plan for the department, in order to ensure the organization, analysis, evaluation, and control of the educational process in accordance with current regulations, the RC School Principles, and the School Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the main processes of personnel management under his/her charge, such as recruitment, selection, teacher substitution, work schedules, induction, support, performance evaluation, training/development and climate management, in order to ensure professional development, the well-being of teachers, and compliance with current legal regulations.
  • Guide and support the curricular planning of the department, according to the Pedagogical Model, aligning the learning goals of the study programs with the formative objectives of the Integral Formation Plan. Promote a strong learning community and encourage interdepartmental collaboration, in order to ensure the necessary conditions for students to achieve curricular standards and the graduation or intermediate profile, as applicable.
  • Accompany teachers both inside and outside the classroom, monitoring the accomplishment of administrative tasks, curricular coverage and the implementation of suitable teaching strategies, promoting in them the continuous development of professional and institutional competencies, implementing a participatory methodology through performance observation, documentation and identification of good practices, opportunities for improvement and systematic feedback, in order to ensure that teachers have the necessary competencies to fulfil their role according to the educational and pedagogical model of the school.
  • Design and implement educational improvement plans through the systematic and periodic analysis of data (educational practices, standardized assessments, among others) to ensure the excellence of the teaching-learning process and the integral formation of the students.
  • Propose and control the department's budget, taking into account the professional development for the teachers training and the necessary resources for the effective implementation of the curriculum and study programs, in order to offer integral formation of excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in the English subject area or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies in education: Master's degree or diploma with a specialization in
    Curriculum and Learning Assessment, and in the specialization of their discipline.
  • At least six years of experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Experience leading work teams.
  • Familiarity with the use of management and administration tools in the field of education.
  • Has strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • As a Catholic school, we expect applicants to uphold and respect the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Location & Compensation
This position is based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
