Accounting Associate

Compensation: ₱25,000 - ₱40,000 / month

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting Associate to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational background in accounting, strong Excel skills, and a desire to grow in a dynamic, tech-forward environment. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process Accounts Payable using Bill.com: upload vendor invoices, maintain proper documentation, and ensure W-9s are on file
  • Lead the annual 1099 filing process
  • Process insurance premium payments for borrowers
  • Perform data entry to update and maintain spreadsheets used for tracking key accounting and operational data
  • Apply appropriate GL coding to corporate card transactions (Brex) and potentially other journals
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with various administrative and operational tasks, including:
  1. Generating FedEx labels and coordinating with third-party lienholders
  2. Reviewing and collecting bank wire/ACH instructions
  3. Updating funding statuses in the origination portal and performing various checks
  4. Supporting other ad hoc projects across the accounting and operations team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience (1–3 years)
  • Proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, filtering/sorting, and basic pivot tables; comfortable working with large datasets
  • Experience with accounting tools such as Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, and Brex
  • Interest or familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly responsive and organized
  • Comfortable using communication and productivity tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Asana
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or fintech environment
  • Familiarity with financial services, real estate, or insurance workflows
