SLIMTC Operations - Investment Services Specialist at Sun Life

The role focuses on daily investment operations, risk management and supporting company initiatives. You will work with investments teams and external partners to ensure accurate trade processing, governance and timely reporting, with a focus on clients and performance within Sun Life's SLIMTC framework.

• Performs daily operations tasks relating to investment trades/transactions, including checking and processing trades/transactions, following up and resolving failed trades, ensuring correctness of trade booking, and settlement of trades/transactions for investment instruments not supported by the Outsourcing Partner.
• Monitor equity, fixed income, and other asset transactions lifecycle performed by the Outsourcing Partner; collaborate with Investments Team to resolve exceptions and ensure trade accuracy throughout the process.
• Performs cash and securities reconciliations as part of governance and oversight over SLIMTC's outsourced partners.
• Ensure funding of the portfolios' investment accounts for trade settlements with custodian/counterparties on settlement date.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of portfolio holdings and records.
• Manage corporate actions and income events.
• Assist with onboarding and periodic KYC refresh with brokers/counterparties.

• Review accuracy of the outsourced partner's outputs and client portfolio records by performing daily reconciliation of trades/transactions and portfolio cash positions, as well as portfolio holdings versus custodian records and the SLIMTC front-office/portfolio management system (Bloomberg AIM).
• Identify, investigate, and resolve exceptions in portfolio cash positions and holdings among internal, Outsourcing Partner, and custodian records.
• Perform the annual review on custodians (SLIMTC owned custody account).
• Participate in the preparation of audit requirements for internal, external, and BSP auditors.

• Participate in projects, process documentation/improvements, and system enhancements as required.
• Work with the Investment Services Manager in reviewing and updating existing guidelines, processes, and procedures.

Administrative functions such as preparation of reports for management and board, as required.
